Scott knew in his heart that Emily was “the one”. He was ready to propose. The engagement ring hidden in a dresser drawer for a couple of months. He was waiting to pop the question at an upcoming trip they had planned with their families. Scott had thought it all through with a perfect setup. As they got closer to that trip, plans rapidly changed and he had to shift gears. Scott’s new plan was romantic proposal on the beach with Emily’s family close by. That was a great plan B!
It would have been an excellent plan if Emily was more cooperative. They had recently arrived at the beach and she wasn’t ready to venture out. No, a long walk on the beach didn’t sound appealing. She wasn’t getting the hint. After a lot of encouragement, Scott finally convinced her that it was a good idea to go walk with the rest of the family too. When the moment was right, Scott got down on one knee and asked Emily to be his wife. Their parents and siblings were standing close by cheering them on. Emily obviously said yes and was thrilled.
I really appreciate Emily and Scott’s ability to pivot and be flexible. We had multiple dates picked out for their engagement session and even some alternative rain dates. One morning, the forecast changed in our favor and we jumped on the opportunity to get together that afternoon. And I’m so glad we did! The weather was unbeatable. It was sunny, breezy and very warm for late October. Perfection.
I loved Scott’s enthusiasm for having his photos taken with Emily. When I would guide them through the photos and posing, he would respond with a “Ooo” or big smile on his face. He was excited for every opportunity to pull her in close and give her a kiss.
These two are so in love. They are a perfect match and such a joy to be around. Emily and Scott, I cannot wait to photograph your wedding next fall at Cameron Estate Inn! It’s going to be a perfect day!
