As I climbed the stairs to the bridal suite at Linwood Estate, the atmosphere emulated peace and calm. You wouldn’t guess by Sarah’s demeanor that she had just replanned her whole wedding in five short weeks. Sarah had mentioned during her planning process that she had a few special family heirlooms that she wanted to have photographed with her bridal details. When I walked into the next room to gather them, I was blown away by the sentiment that was put in each item. The diamond pendant necklace was created from her mother’s engagement ring. The long, embroidered cathedral veil was her aunts from her wedding. And the garter was from her grandmother. That attention to detail and thoughtfulness was prevalent throughout the entire day.
Jason’s boutonnière was pinned. Sarah’s veil was in place. It was time to take a few minutes before their first look to read cards from one another. They both smiled from ear to ear as they read sweet notes from their best friend. Their special day was finally here.
Like many other 2020 weddings, original plans had to shift and change pretty drastically. Unfortunately, that also meant that many were forced to reduce their guests lists too. At the start of Sarah and Jason’s ceremony, before focusing on themselves, they shared with those gathered (and on Zoom) how specific loved ones had impacted them who were unable to attend. Their ceremony thoughtfully blended their Christian and Jewish faiths as two families came together. As the rabbi read through the blessing, a train roared in the distance trying to overpower the volume of his prayer. This only reminded everyone how despite opposition, Sarah and Jason’s love wasn’t going to be stopped, not today.
Sarah and Jason’s thoughtfulness and kindness has in turn impacted so many others. After dinner, countless videos played of friends and family from across the country expressing their well wishes to the newlyweds.
And with that said, Congratulations, Sarah and Jason on your marriage and new life together! I was so honored to be a part of your special day!
