Kendall and Dave are celebrating seven years of marriage this year. When I think of their journey and what they love to do together, I think of the word “adventure”. On their first date they went kayaking and Dave carried both of the kayaks to the car single handed to impress this cute girl he met. Fast forward to their wedding day, they surprised their guests by making their grand entrance in a bright red helicopter. After they tied the knot, they drove all the way from New England to Alabama with all of their belongings and weddings gifts for their next big milestone. That is where Dave began his military helicopter career and they would plant themselves in the south during flight school.
The life of a military spouse is an adventure all by itself. It provides some great opportunities to travel together but sometimes it puts distance between you that requires patience and endurance. With long periods of being apart and working hectic night schedules, Kendall and Dave take advantage of their time together by planning epic camping trips and checking places off their bucket list. They started a tradition of taking a photograph of themselves holding their wedding photo each year on their anniversary. Each year that photo turns into a photo of them holding their anniversary photo. Seven years in you can still see a glimpse of their first house and their trip to Montana. This year they took their anniversary photos on a helicopter airfield. It’s really fitting and represents a huge part of their story. A great prat of their journey that has led to a lot of adventures. But above all else, what holds them together is their deep, passionate, unconditional love for one another. That is what makes their marriage an adventure.
