Kristi, is resilient. Those words resounded in my head as her mom described how well she was handling her senior year, despite schools being closed for the last marking period. Class of 2020, your senior year didn’t look how you imagined it would be when you started in the fall. You thought you would enjoy commemorating about your “lasts”. Your last prom, senior week, last time seeing your favorite teachers, walking down the hallways, etc. It looks a lot different this year. But it won’t stop you from what adventures lie ahead.
Kristi is extremely talented, beautiful and hard working. She is going to college to pursue her undergraduate degree in Zoology and minor in French and Spanish. Kristi has been on the honor role in high school and is part of color guard, synchronized swimming and has been working hard to save up for college too!
I was really looking forward to photographing Kristi for her senior pictures. We waited for the spring rains and crazy winds to subside. It turned out to be a lovely night and the sun was glowing perfectly through the willow tree close to home. When we started her session, she warned me that she wasn’t very photogenic. This statement never scares me. First, I get to resonate with my clients and say “Umm, same here!” Then I get show them how naturally beautiful they really are. After I show you some pointers for how to stand and what to do with your hands, the rest of the time is fun and easy. One of my favorite moments was when I showed Kristi the back of the camera and hearing her “gasp”. She could see for herself that she looked stunning.
Kristi’s smile is radiant and contagious. She looked lovely in every picture, it was really hard to pick my favorites! I love that you can see more of her personality in her eyes too. She is sweet but also bold. She has that balance of being easy going and driven. Kristi, you are going to succeed at whatever you set your mind to! I am so excited for you and your endeavors at school.
