This summer, I offered a giveaway for a family session. Through the time of quarantine and people being stuck at home, I was really looking forward to seeing families again for a session. When the contest began, I was really excited to see who would win! It could have been a beloved past client or someone brand new. I was thrilled that the winner was just as pumped for the giveaway session as I was! Gabrielle enthusiastically reached to me expressing how perfect the timing way because in a few short months, she would be expecting her first baby. After her baby girl was born, she messaged me shortly after saying that we could officially schedule the session. That’s dedication right there!

Their session was perfect! We had beautiful weather! That week, the forecast was calling for cold, rain and dreary weather. The night of their session we had clear skies and a warm summer breeze. When I walked inside to greet their family, the atmosphere was so peaceful. Gabrielle already knew all the tricks to make sure her baby girl was fast asleep for the beginning of picture time. Baby Powell was fast asleep for her family shots and closeups. She was a champ!

When their baby girl did stir, Dakota and Gabrielle ran to her rescue and rocked her back to sleep. Seriously, these two were impressive. Toward the end of the session, as the sun was setting, Genesis made her debut. She opened her eyes for a few sweet intimate family shots. She also wanted to show us more of her personality before we were done. This family session couldn’t have gone better! We had a sleeping two-week-old, calm and loving parents (and grandparents to help!) and beautiful weather. It was perfect!
