Jason and I sat outside on the front porch with our small bowls of ice cream and a blanket on our laps. The sun and Levi had gone to bed around the same time. Jason asked if I remembered what I was doing tonight 10 years ago. I laughed and said I was at Wendy’s getting a cheeseburger after helping decorate at the church. We talked about some things we loved and some things we would have changed about the wedding day. Also, what would we have thought if we looked ahead 10 years to see where we are at now. We are incredibly blessed. We have had an wonderful marriage, a beautiful home, blessed careers and now have a sweet little boy. There is so much to be thankful for.
Almost 13 years ago, we met at Messiah College (now University) playing ultimate frisbee. I thought he was overly friendly and he thought I was beautiful. A few months later we went on our first date and were inseparable ever since. Jason became my best friend early on. We could talk about the things of God and Scriptures seamlessly. The key to our relationship was keeping God centered. We confided in one another. We have fun and laugh together and at each other. There is an unconditional love that is precious and sacred. Our theme verse is Ephesians 3:20, “Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us.” Our marriage has been above what we could have asked or thought. God has abundantly blessed us and we are so grateful.
You can read more of our beginnings in my blog series “My Love Story“.
Now we have a sweet little boy who is everything we prayed for. He’s sweet, healthy and strong. We are so thankful for our miracle baby.
