The ballroom sparkled with silver and blue. The bride and groom were surrounded by white linens, lights and snow. It was truly a winter wonderland. Their closest friends and family waited with glasses lifted high in expectation. As the microphone was passed, Zion and Gil laughed and cried as each of their best friends and siblings shared from their hearts. They each uttered the same words; “unconditional”, “silly” and “proud of you”. These themes resounded throughout their wedding day.
That unconditional love poured out of Gil as he saw his bride walking down the aisle and he tried to hold back the tears. Joy and laughter would ensue every time they looked into each other’s eyes. They couldn’t help but smile then immediately would belly laugh. Pride swelled as parents and grandparents watched them say their vows before God and grow up right before their eyes.
Zion and Gil are high school sweet hearts. The DJ that helped them dance the night away was there when Zion and Gil first laid eyes on each other. Zion was walking to her cousin’s house as it was getting late and him and Gil offered her a ride. All it took was one look from that curly headed stud in the front seat and Zion melted. From that moment they have shared the memories of prom, graduation, growing in their faith in church youth group and now they get to continue their journey as husband and wife.
Zion and Gil, thank you for giving me the privilege of capturing the memories of your wedding day. Your love for one another is so passionate and so genuine and so much fun. It’s hard to express how honored I felt to be present for those moments during your first look and first dances where your relationship shined through at its finest. Zion, you were stunning. I don’t think you could have been more beautiful. You looked like royalty with your gorgeous tiara and winter cape. Gil, you looked so handsome and so sharp. I loved spending time with the two of you and your family. I pray that this new season in your life is full of blessings and joy and that your marriage grows strong with each day.
- Gil’s first look was definitely in my top 10, “First Look Reactions”. The bridal party photos at the Harrisburg capital were perfect for their winter wonderland theme wedding. The stone’s reflection looked like ice!
