Hi, I'm Sandy

The young groom stood near the arbor in front of his friends and family in eager anticipation for his bride to walk down the aisle. When the doors opened and the guests stood in reverence, Thomas bowed his head to try to hide the tears. He looked up to see Paige walking down the aisle with her mom under the canopy of trees and the bright summer sun kissing her face. She stopped just a few feet in front of him. He took a deep breath and the tears of joy turned into a smile that stuck for the rest of the day.

Thomas is not typically emotional. Moments before the ceremony, him and Paige exchanged wedding gifts and that’s when those tears snuck in. After they opened their gifts, they paused to do the most important thing they could before walking down the aisle–they prayed together. Their heartfelt prayer and the reality setting in of what they were about to do triggered those tears again. Tears are okay in my book, especially when there is so much joy behind them.

Their ceremony under the trees at the Whitetail Lodge was peaceful and meaningful. They exchanged their rings with glee and tied a three fold cord representing the strength of their marriage with God at the center.  The ceremony also had one special guest that I was especially excited about…my husband, Jason! He officiated the ceremony so that made the day extra special for me.

Their time of toasting during the reception was unique. After the best man had everyone rolling in laughter from embarassing stories of him and Thomas’ childhood, how he enjoyed making Paige feel uncomfortable and how’s she’s perfect for his brother. They opened up the mic to other guests to share. It was so special to hear how these newlyweds have made an impact on their friends and family. There were resounding themes of their kindness and thoughtfulness.

When their relationship started they were thoughtful and intentional each step of the way. They were seeking others advice and prayers to make sure they were making the right decision to pursue one another. Their wedding day reflected that intentionality and true love that they share. Congratulations, Thomas and Paige on your marriage! You two are truly special and I pray for all the best in your future together!
